Twitch Sub Revenue Split
Standard affiliates receive 50% of the $4.99 T1 sub price (~$2.50). Some partners negotiate a 60% or 70% split (Twitch Partner Plus program). Tier 2 and Tier 3 subs follow the same percentage on their higher price points.
How Bits Work
Bits are Twitch's virtual currency. Viewers pay Twitch for Bits (usually at a markup), and for every Bit cheered at you, you receive exactly $0.01. There's no split, the streamer keeps 100% of the Bit value. 1,000 Bits = $10 to you.
How Much Do Twitch Streamers Make?
Small streamers (10–50 avg viewers) typically earn $50–$500/month if they have an engaged sub base. Mid-size (100–500 viewers) can earn $500–$5,000. Large streamers (1,000+ viewers) can earn significantly more from ads, sponsorships, and sub revenue combined.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does Twitch take from subscriptions?
By default, Twitch takes 50% of subscription revenue from affiliates, leaving the streamer with ~$2.50 per T1 sub. Partners can negotiate a 60/40 split ($3.00/sub) or even 70/30 through Twitch Partner Plus. Amazon Prime subs pay the streamer the same as a T1 sub but Prime members don't pay extra.
What is the Twitch payout minimum?
Twitch requires a minimum balance of $50 USD for ACH/direct deposit payments, and $100 for wire transfers. Payouts are processed on the 15th of the following month (e.g., January earnings paid around Feb 15).
Do Twitch ads count toward my payout estimate?
This calculator estimates ad revenue based on your average viewer count and stream hours with a conservative $2 RPM. Actual ad rates vary enormously based on region, season (Q4 is highest), and advertiser demand. Treat the ad estimate as a rough floor, not a guarantee.
